The Slayers is about hot headed sorceress Lina Inverse, her whacky counterparts, and their misadventures. It may sound like a typical scenario, but the Slayers actually parodies stereotypical RPG and fantasy series. Ironically it's one the most popular RPG/Fantasy series to date. The first series was followed by a second season called Slayers Next, and a third called Slayers Try. They each start out severely humorous, and slowly become serious until at the end the fate of the world is at risk. Some of Lina's famous companions include jelly fish for brains Gourry, Zelgadiss the chimera, ditzy princess Amelia, Xellos the trickster preist, and Filia the shrine maiden of the Fire Dragon King.
